Lucas Portron is a graphic and type designer, based between Basel and Lausanne, Switzerland. Graduating with a BA in Visual Communication from the École Nationale Supérieure d’Art et de Design de Nancy (Énsad), he began his exploration of type design during his internship at the Atelier National de Recherche Typographique (ANRT) in 2022. During this period, he contributed to the research project led by Tânia Raposo on the Hans-Jürg Hunziker archives, while also participating in Julien Van Anholt’s project on the typographic analysis of intertitles in silent movies. He then joined the Type Design Master’s program at École Cantonale d’Art de Lausanne (ECAL), where he finished his studies. He is currently doing an internship at Omnitype (CH) where he work on different projects, while remaining open to new opportunities and collaborations.
